📦 Why Customs Duties Apply Now

Due to recent U.S. trade policy changes, all shipments from India to the United States are now subject to import duties—regardless of order value.

  • Effective August 29, 2025, the U.S. government ended the de minimis exemption (which earlier allowed packages under $800 to enter duty-free).
  • This means every shipment from India will now be assessed for customs duty, no matter the value.
  • Duties include:
    • 25% base import tax, and
    • Up to 25% penalty tariffs,
      resulting in up to 50–60% in total duties on the declared value of your order.

We know surprise charges at delivery can be frustrating. That’s why, starting September 10, 2025, Desiqlo has moved to a Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) model:

  • Your checkout total now includes customs duties & taxes.
  • No unexpected bills from UPS, FedEx, or DHL at delivery.
  • We handle all paperwork and clearance on your behalf.

🔄 Which Orders Does This Apply To?

  • Orders placed before September 10, 2025 → Duties will be billed separately by the courier before delivery, as per old rules.
  • Orders placed on or after September 10, 2025 → Duties are prepaid at checkout. No extra payment required at delivery.

Based on product value and category (HSN code). Under the new system, Desiqlo calculates and includes this at checkout.

What if I placed an order before Sept 10?

Those orders may still attract separate duty bills at delivery. Please check your order confirmation date.

Can Desiqlo cover duties for me?

Yes, for all new orders from Sept 10 onward. Your checkout price is final.

What if I refuse to pay courier duties on older orders?

The package will return to India, and we’ll refund you minus shipping and return fees.
